Dr. Lowell Ebersole will become Wesley Healthcare’s first assistant chief medical officer in January, working alongside Dr. Francie Ekengren, chief medical officer.
“After performing a national search with many interviews, a Wichita hometown physician rose to the top of the potential candidates,” Dr. Ekengren said in an email sharing the news with medical staff.
Dr. Ebersole went to medical school at Des Moines University-Osteopathic Medical Center and completed his family medicine residency in Wichita. He practices with Sound Physicians.
“Many of us know Lowell as a hospitalist, both here at Wesley a number of years ago and currently at Via Christi in that same role,” Dr. Ekengren said. “He has participated as a physician leader, both serving as president of a medical staff and as a lead in his group. … I believe that he will be a tremendous fit at Wesley.”
